1 The old bridge on the Glavnaya street, grain elevator, and milling plant. 1 The Samara Global Village festival of world cultures was held on Sunday, July 15th, 2012 on a summer ground of the KIN-UP entertaining center. It took place from 4 till 9 PM local time and admission was free for absolutely everyone. The aim is to give citizens an opportunity to meet foreign students and to be introduced to cultures of other countries, without going abroad. The whole event was arranged by the student organization AIESEC (the acronym stands for the French “Association Internationale des Étudiants en Sciences Économiques et Commerciales”), and it was sponsored by the Savings Bank of Russia, linguistic club Ya-Polyglot, ERTelecom ISP et al. On the first photo, a table of China which had the richest exposition in my opinion. Anyone could taste their candies and cookies, and frankly some of the stuff had very familiar flavor to me. To celebrate this, on the fourth stage of the Samara embankment was opened an alley of glory of the team. 1 On the first of May, the International Workers’ Day (also known as May Day) is celebrated by many people across the globe. And it has a special meaning in Russia due to our communist past. Today at 9:30 AM the inhabitants of Samara assembled for the demonstration and the gathering point was near to the fountains on the Polina Osipenko street. 1 On Sunday, April 29th, 2012 here — at Samara, Russian Federation — we had a very special event organized by citizens and local authorities. That was a relay of the Soviet Banner of Victory, and the main part of the event was held on the embankment of the Volga river.
